This Earth Day looks a little different than those of the past

This Earth Day looks a little different than those of the past. As most of us observe Earth Day at Home this year, The Current has pulled together a collection of sites and sounds from our community and inspirational messages for you.

“This year marks the 50th anniversary of Earth Day. The first Earth Day in 1970 launched a wave of action, including the passage of landmark environmental laws in the United States such as the Clean Air, Clean Water, and Endangered Species Acts and the creation of the Environmental Protection Agency,” State Senator Patrick O’Connor

“Being good stewards of our environment is one of the bedrock values of this community,” Karen Johnson – Hingham Selectman

“Let’s make a difference this year. Go for a walk in your neighborhood and pick up trash along the way,” Bare Cove Park Committee Chair Ted Matthews

“Earth Day is a special time to remember that it is important to take care of our environment,” Recreation Committee Chair Coach Vicki Donlan
