West’s Corner, commonly known as “West Corner,” is located at the intersection of Rockland Street and Hull Street where Hingham, Hull and Cohasset meet and the Weir River feeds into Straits Pond. West’s Corner, commonly known as “West Corner,” is located at the intersection of Rockland Street and Hull Street where Hingham, Hull and Cohasset meet and the Weir River feeds into Straits Pond.

West Corner is home to several businesses.
Businesses like Victoria’s Sub Shop and The Corner Stop Eatery call West Corner home.  However, they are located in East Hingham, not West Hingham.  Bare Cove Park and the West Hingham T station are situated in West Hingham.

So where did West Corner get its name?
West Corner is actually named after grocery store owner Charles West.  In the early 1900’s his business was located in what was, until recently, an antique shop at the corner of Jerusalem Road.  Unfortunately that building burned down in February 2014.

West Corner is also home to Studley Square.
In 2017, a plaque was erected at West Corner to honor World War II Sergeant Everett F. Studley.  Studley, a Cohasset resident, enlisted in the army at the Hingham Armory in September 1940.  He was killed in action in France on November 28, 1944.  The memorial stands at the intersection of Jerusalem Road and Hull Street to ensure his memory and his sacrifice are not forgotten.
